FULL REPORT: On the above date and time while conducting speed enforcement in the area of I-675 southbound and Grant Rd, I observed a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed. I then used my lidar speed device and got an accurate speed of 94Mph in a 65Mph zone. I then pulled out behind that motorcycle and activated my emergency lights. The motorcycle immediately increased its speed initiating a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit traveled southbound on I-675 at excess speeds of 120Mph in a 65Mph zone all while driving reckless, driving between vehicle, driving on the shoulder of the interstate. The driver had an extreme disregard to the motoring public safety. While still on I-675 Soutbound passing exit 2, the motorcycle drove in-between vehicles then exited at Highway 138 SE. The motorcycle then made a left turn onto Highway 138, failing to stop for the red traffic light, almost crashing into a vehicle. I then requested assistance from Henry County Police, Stockbridge Police and Georgia State Patrol. The vehicle continued eastbound on Highway 138 at speeds of 80Mph. The motorcycle then drove up on the sidewalk once at Highway 138/North Henry Pkwy. The motorcycle got off the sidewalk and drove into the Walmart parking lot and continued to drive recklessly. The motorcycle then came back out to Highway 42 near Highway 138 and drove into the gas station parking lot then drove into the DD's Parking lot. Another Sheriff's Office Unit joined the pursuit and assisted with trying to box in the motorcycle. Once at Davidson Parkway and Walter Way, the motorcycle drove up on a curb, lost control and immediately jumped off the motorcycle. Once off the motorcycle, the driver immediately began running on foot. At this time, I deployed my department issued taser which was effective. The male’s body locked up which caused him to fall to the ground. Deputies were then able to take him into custody without incident. I then located marijuana in Dopson right side jacked pocket. The marijuana weighed 18 grams. Dopson also had a firearm in his jacket pocket. Upon checking his driver's license status and motorcycle status, the driver Antonio Dopson was found to have a valid license however he did not have a motorcycle endorsement. The vehicle registration was cancelled with no valid insurance. Dopson openly admitted to fleeing from law enforcement because he "did not have a license". Dopson stated that he was also out of bond in Clayton County for a weapon offence. Henry County EMS arrived on scene and checked Dopson for injuries. Once cleared, I transported Dopson to the Clayton County Jail. Once at the jail, he was turned over to jail corrections officers. The motorcycle was impounded to New Image. The marijuana and firearm were placed into evidence. Nothing further.
