Missouri Tyrant Cop Demands ID For Filming, Gets A Rights Lesson Police were called on a man for simply standing on a public sidewalk with a camera in Warrensburg, Missouri, USA. Bank employees got nervous seeing him filming from public property, a lawful, constitutionally protected activity, and dialed 911. Officer Sanders of the Warrensburg Police Department demanded ID with no reasonable articulable suspicion of any crime. The man calmly refused, asked what rights the officer was there to defend, and Sanders was forced to admit on camera that recording in public is legal before handing over his card and walking away. The man behind the camera is the auditor known as Kansas City Accountability, a Missouri citizen journalist famous for silent audits, ID refusals, and police encounter videos. In November 2024 he was unlawfully arrested by Grandview, Missouri police for refusing to ID while legally recording outside a bank, then released as John Doe two hours later, a wrongful arrest that went viral and sparked his ongoing legal fight. By 2026 he had audited in over 13 states. In May 2026 he was arrested again in Cincinnati, Ohio while filming outside a bank, released on 1,500 dollars bond, and Cincinnati Police opened an internal investigation into his arrest.
