On January 13, 2025, at approximately 1711 hours, the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office received a dispatch regarding a suspicious person, possibly intoxicated, at a Publix supermarket. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the caller, who reported that while riding his electric scooter through the plaza, a woman suddenly jumped in front of him and attempted to pull on his arm. The caller noted that an unknown male intervened, causing the woman to ask for help in locating her vehicle. After they found her vehicle, the caller waited by the front door of the Publix for law enforcement to arrive. Deputies patrolling the parking lot observed the woman standing at the rear of a white vehicle with an unidentified black male. She appeared to be extremely intoxicated, exhibiting slurred speech, difficulty standing without support, and stumbling as she walked. As deputies attempted to find someone to assist her, the woman approached them aggressively, shouting profanities. Despite multiple orders to step back, she failed to comply. Due to her behavior, deputies placed one handcuff on her right wrist. However, she resisted, turning her body and preventing the deputies from securing both handcuffs behind her back. After a brief struggle, the deputies successfully handcuffed her arms behind her back, ensuring the cuffs were double-locked and properly fitted. When deputies attempted to place her in the back of the patrol vehicle, she stiffened her body, making it difficult to secure her inside. She then tried to exit the vehicle, prompting deputies to push her back inside. After exiting again, deputies decided to call for fire rescue to assess her condition.
