The situation took an unexpected turn when the wife’s sister arrived to provide support. Upon seeing her, the husband became hostile, told her to leave, called her names, and abruptly drove off. Moments later, he returned to the home. When officers approached him to talk, he angrily refused, demanding they leave his property. One officer spoke with his wife, who explained that her husband struggled with alcoholism, drank daily, and held only a part-time job. She told officers that, at one point, she had informed him their relationship was over. While officers tried to de-escalate the situation, the husband repeatedly interrupted. He confronted one officer, demanding they leave, insisting no crime had occurred. Officers explained that they were investigating a disturbance and would not leave until the situation was resolved. Frustrated, the husband retreated into the house. Officers continued speaking with the wife, explaining that they could not take action since, at that point, the conflict was verbal. However, the husband emerged again, this time more agitated, and began arguing with the officers. As tensions rose, he got into an officer's personal space, prompting the officer to push him back. When the wife began gathering her belongings and the children to leave with her sister, the husband grew even angrier. He tried to re-enter the house, but an officer stopped him, explaining that he could not go back inside. He went into the garage, retrieved a machete, and threatened to kill the officers. Officers immediately drew their guns and tasers, issuing commands to drop the weapon. After a tense moment, the husband complied, dropping the machete. He was arrested without further incident, though he continued yelling, insulting the officers, and insisting he had done nothing wrong. At the jail, the behavior continued, with the husband making threats toward the officers. Despite his hostility, the officers remained professional throughout the ordeal.
