On May 30, just after midnight on Memorial Day, R&B singer DaniLeigh was driving a Mercedes G-Wagon down Washington Avenue in Miami Beach. She was speeding. She was swerving. And then she hit a 17-year-old boy on a moped. She dragged him for a block. Sparks flew from the metal scraping the road. She did not stop. She kept driving. When an officer finally pulled her over, she told him she was a singer and that he could not arrest her. She name-dropped rapper Quavo, who was standing nearby with security. She laughed when told the victim might not survive. The boy survived. His spine was fractured. His kidney was lacerated. She blew a 0.145 and 0.148 — nearly double the legal limit. An empty bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila was found in her vehicle. She was sentenced to 5 years probation. No jail time. This is the full bodycam breakdown. All footage from Miami Beach Police Department. ⚠️ Disclaimer: This video is produced for educational and documentary purposes only.
