The information below is based on the Arkansas State Police incident report. Possible charges are identified separately from any official charging decision. Description On September 21, 2026, Trooper Eli Thomas of the Arkansas State Police was stationary near the Riverside scales on Interstate 40 when his front radar detected a passenger vehicle traveling approximately 82 MPH in a posted 65 MPH zone. Trooper Thomas also reported hearing what appeared to be an improper muffler or exhaust system as the vehicle passed. Trooper Thomas initiated a traffic stop near the 280-mile marker. The gray Chrysler 200 exited Interstate 40 toward MLK Boulevard, but the situation quickly escalated as the vehicle continued through a stop sign and accelerated southbound. The vehicle then reached speeds exceeding 90 MPH in a posted 45 MPH zone and continued toward Broadway before disregarding a traffic signal and continuing onto South Loop. Follow the dashcam footage as Trooper Thomas attempts to deal with an increasingly dangerous pursuit involving a gray Chrysler 200 and a driver who ultimately leaves the vehicle on foot.
