On July 30, 2024, in Del Norte County California Highway Patrol officers were dispatched to Kings Valley Road near Wigley Mountain Road for a report of a overturned black Merecedes C300 sedan in the drainage ditch. The Driver was pulled from the vehicle through the rear window and loaded onto a gurney. At 2255 hours the Driver Valentina M. Fry was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol and transported to Sutter Coast Hospital for medical clearance. The Officer followed the ambulance to the hospital for a chemical blood draw test. At approximately 2332 hours Fry related she no longer wanted to do a blood test and wanted to do a breath test instead. The Chemical Breath Test Results were: Test 1 - BAC: 0.10 at 2358 hours Test 2 - BAC: 0.10 at 0002 hours Valentina Fry was released from custody for medical treatment for the injuries she sustained in the accident.
