All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. An unusual late-night traffic stop on Interstate 40 in St. Francis County quickly developed into a dangerous Arkansas State Police pursuit involving a white Ford F-350, multiple troopers, a collision with an ASP patrol car, and repeated attempts to bring the truck to a stop. According to the official report, Trooper Damion Potts was traveling westbound near mile marker 247 when he observed a white 2014 Ford F-350 swerving within its lane and crossing both the center line and outside fog line. Potts activated his emergency lights, but the truck allegedly continued westbound without stopping. The situation became increasingly unpredictable as the F-350 reportedly accelerated and decelerated erratically while swerving across the interstate. Trooper Hunter Hill joined as the secondary unit, and the truck allegedly used the outside shoulder to pass a tractor-trailer. Near mile marker 231, Trooper Hill moved his patrol car ahead of the truck in an attempt to reduce its speed. According to the report, the F-350 took evasive action and struck the rear driver's side of Hill's Dodge Charger, causing the patrol vehicle to rotate and sustain disabling damage. Trooper Potts then attempted two separate Tactical Vehicle Interventions, but neither attempt successfully stopped the F-350. Other troopers moved ahead of the pursuit as the operation continued westbound on I-40. Watch the complete dashcam footage to see how this unpredictable pursuit develops.
