On October 4, 2023, Westlake Police Sgt. Frey observed a vehicle drift to the right and then overcorrect to the left and commit a marked lanes violation. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was driven by a 52-year-old woman who was driving a borrowed car. Despite telling Sgt. Frey that her brother is a "DEA Officer", she was asked to step out of the vehicle after admitting to consuming 3 White Claws. She performed standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI. At the police station, she submitted to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.286% BAC.
