On August 30, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Officer Koger observed a vehicle driving erratically after backing out of a driveway. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 56-year-old woman. She had difficulty lowering her car window for Officer Koger. After speaking with the woman for a short period of time, Officer Koger called for the assistance of Officer Salido. Officer Salido arrived and initiated a Driving While Under the Influence (DWI) investigation. The woman was eventually arrested and transported to the Rio Rancho Police Station. She agreed to provide two breath samples and the result for each was 0.19% BAC. She was charged with Aggravated DWI and Careless Driving. On January 14, 2026, she pleaded guilty to an amended charge of Non-Aggravated DWI. Both of the original charges were dismissed. She was ordered to complete DWI School, perform Community Service, and install an Ignition Interlock Device on her vehicle.
