⚠️ SPOILER WARNING ⚠️ The description below explains the full sequence of events shown in the video, including outcomes and charges. During a traffic stop involving a rental vehicle, deputies make contact with two women after the driver is stopped for speeding. Both occupants provide information to officers. While deputies wait for records checks to return, they detect the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and conduct a search. After the search is completed, the driver is arrested for driving while her license is suspended. Based on the name initially provided by the passenger, dispatch reports an outstanding warrant associated with that name. The passenger is arrested on that warrant. While seated together in the back of a patrol car, the passenger is recorded discussing the situation with the driver. During the conversation, she explains that she originally gave officers her sister’s name. She states that during a previous traffic stop, she used that same name and then fled from police. According to her own statements, that earlier incident resulted in a warrant being issued under her sister’s name. When she provides the same name again during this stop, the warrant appears as a result of that prior incident. During the backseat conversation, the passenger also makes statements indicating that she has drugs concealed on her body, which later becomes relevant during the booking process. During this time, she decides to come clean and provides officers with her real name. She explains that she did not initially give her correct identity because she believed she had outstanding warrants under her real name as well. After the passenger provides her real name, a supervising deputy arrives on scene to assist with verifying her identity. A RapidID fingerprint check is conducted, which later confirms that the second name the passenger provided was her correct identity. In the end, the driver was charged with driving while license suspended; that charge was later nolle prossed. The passenger pleaded no contest and was found guilty of giving a false name upon being arrested or detained, possession of cannabis under 20 grams, and introduction of contraband into a penal institution, a felony offense.
