🎥 In today's documentary, we report on an incident that occurred on Interstate 40 in Arizona with a vehicle heading towards New Mexico. On that date, an Arizona sheriff's deputy pulled over the vehicle on I-40 for what should have been a routine warning — following too close, plus items hanging from the rearview mirror. Within minutes, the driver's tells gave her away: an extremely dry mouth, escalating nervousness, and an inability to remember her own boyfriend's name. The cover story didn't hold either. As you will see in the videos, the pair claimed to be on their way to visit her uncle in Joseph City — but they had already passed Joseph City when the stop occurred. A narcotics K9 alerted on the vehicle. Inside a suitcase still partially in its Ross packaging, officers located 371,460 fentanyl pills with an estimated street value well above $1 million, along with a drug ledger referencing meth and black tar heroin. According to court records, the driver — Yolanda Ortiz Montelongo — admitted she was delivering the load to Holbrook. The passenger — Moreno Camero, a man from Sinaloa — admitted he was being paid $3,000 for the run. The driver then disclosed that the load was part of a regular pipeline running from Nogales, Mexico through Phoenix and eastward into New Mexico and beyond, two to three times per month. Both were charged with transportation of narcotic drugs, possession, and possession for sale. Court records show both were convicted and sentenced to five years in the Arizona Department of Corrections. The full story is in the documentary. This is the body-worn camera footage from the officers who responded to the June 12 stop. 📍 Location: Joseph City, AZ (Navajo County area) — I-40 interdiction 📅 Incident date: June 12, 2024 📂 Source: Official police and court records ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS: 00:00 — Intro 00:35 — The stop on I-40 01:50 — Cover story unravels 02:40 — Dry mouth, the boyfriend's name blank 04:10 — Passenger interview in Spanish 06:00 — K9 alert 08:50 — Inside the suitcase: 371,000 pills 10:20 — The Ross receipt and the cash 11:10 — Arrest and admissions 12:30 — The corridor: Nogales → Phoenix → NM 13:30 — Conviction and sentencing ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📌 ABOUT BREAKING BODYCAMS Breaking Bodycams covers newsworthy law enforcement encounters across the country, with a heavy focus on the Southwest and New Mexico.
