Police have charged a man following an alleged incident involving a stolen motorcycle and dangerous driving while in possession of methylamphetamine in North Brisbane yesterday (June 3). Around 9am, officers observed a black Suzuki motorcycle, allegedly bearing cloned registration plates, stopped at a red traffic light on Sandgate Road in Boondall. Police continued to monitor the motorcycle as it later pulled into a driveway in Clontarf. As officers approached, the male rider allegedly fled, losing control of the bike and colliding with a truck parked in the front yard of a property on the opposite side of the street. It will be alleged that a subsequent search of the man located approximately 40 grams of methylamphetamine, as well as other stolen items. A 39-year-old Indooroopilly man has been charged with 10 offences, including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle while adversely affected by drugs, unlicensed driving (SPER suspension), possession of a dangerous drug, obstructing police, and other drug-related offences. He was refused police bail and is scheduled to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court today. The motorcycle was allegedly stolen from a residence on Kitchener Street, Coorparoo, on May 20.
