On December 20, 2024, Roswell Police Sergeant Best stopped a 36-year-old woman who allegedly failure to use her turn signal and failed to maintain a single lane of traffic. The woman's speech and physical appearance raised concerns for Sgt. Best, who called for Officer Mata from the traffic unit. The woman denied consuming alcohol. She was asked to step out of the vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. However, she refused the testing and was immediately placed under arrest for Driving While Under the Influence. At the police station, she refused to submit to a breath alcohol test, which made her charge aggravated. Her case is still open and her next court date is July 31, 2025. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
