Happy Thanksgiving, y'all! On Sunday, October 14, 2018 a Cessna 172K Skyhawk, tail number N996SB, experienced a hard landing and subsequent fire at Gwinnett County Airport-Briscoe Field (KLZU), Lawrenceville, Georgia. Onboard the aircraft were a flight instructor and his student, both of whom walked away without a scratch. According to FAA preliminary data the 172 flew out of Peachtree-DeKalb Airport and was performing a touch-and-go at Briscoe Field when it "experienced a nose dive and hard landing as it took off from Runway 7."
