March 29th, 2026 at 12:32 a.m. Trooper Hunter Glover notified me of North Little Rock Police was in pursuit of a vehicle on I-40 traveling toward my location. I was on Military Drive at Burns park assisting another North Little Rock Police Officer shutting the Burns Park gate. An influx of traffic was entering the park and was suspected of illegal burnouts and street racing in the area. I crossed over I-40 on Military Drive and observed a dark colored SUV fleeing from a Police vehicle on I-40 west. The suspect vehicle had emergency flashers on and took the Burns Park exit. I observed the vehicle traveling my direction and attempted to block his path to end the pursuit. The driver accelerated and fled northbound on Military Drive. I notified Troop A Communications I was in pursuit. The suspect traveled into oncoming traffic at high speeds and then turned onto Joe K Poch Drive traveling west. He traveled over 70+ mph and recklessly swerving across the double yellow line. He traveled across the I- 40 overpass on Joe K Poch Drive and I had an opportunity to stop his vehicle. I positioned my car next to his and he braked suddenly to avoid a vehicle intervention. He traveled off the right shoulder and struck a road sign. He re-entered the roadway and I was able to hit his vehicle with my patrol car in an attempt to stop his reckless behavior. He accelerated through the vehicle intervention and tried to speed away. His vehicle was damaged after hitting the road sign and he stopped on the road a few hundred feet south of where he struck the road sign. The driver and passenger were then arrested without further incident. A search of the vehicle was conducted. An AR style 5.56 pistol was located inside the vehicle. The driver was medically cleared and then transported to Pulaski County jail by NLR PD. The driver was charged with Felony Fleeing as well as other traffic violations.
