Her stated reason, from the footage, was that the roommates didn't clean. When the officer pressed her on why the roommates couldn't come inside, she kept returning to that: "They don't clean," and "If you pay rent, you must clean." That was the justification she gave in the moment for locking them out. But the fuller picture underneath it, per the roommate's account to police, is that it stemmed from one of her mental health episodes. The roommate explained that earlier that morning Martinez was having an episode, believing the roommate had stolen her belongings, when in reality the roommate said Martinez's boyfriend had come the day before and taken back items he'd bought her. That escalated into Martinez banging on the roommate's door, screaming, and coming at her with a skateboard. The lockout followed from that morning's blowup. So there are really two layers: the reason she articulated (they don't clean / don't deserve to be there) and the roommate's explanation of what actually triggered it (a paranoid episode about stolen belongings that were really just retrieved by an ex). The two don't line up, which is consistent with the crisis state the officers were describing throughout. If you're deciding how to frame it on screen, the "they don't clean" line is the clean, in-her-words version you can attribute directly to her, whereas the stolen-belongings backstory is the roommate's account, so I'd keep that attributed rather than stated as fact.
