On Saturday, July 13th, 2024, I conducted a general patrol in the area of Godby Road and SR 314, College Park, Clayton County, GA., when I observed the offender operating a dirt bike on the roadway. The offender was standing up and not correctly seated. The offender's bike did not display a tag, so I activated my emergency equipment from my marked patrol unit and attempted to perform a traffic stop. The offender ignored the command to pull over. He looked at me over his shoulder, began laughing, and pulled his "social" finger. The offender increased his speed and was headed into Fulton County, but once he observed additional deputies attempting to stop him from entering Fulton County on the eastbound lane, the offender began riding on the westbound lane, creating a dangerous situation that placed the general public at risk for injury or even death. Attempts were made to block his travels, but the offender returned to Clayton County and began operating the dirt bike on the grass. The offender then drove on the wrong side of the road again on Godby Road's eastbound lane, forcing cars to brake hard to avoid colliding with the offender. The offender then drove into 2001 Godby Road and failed to stop at the stop sign near the intersection of Godby Road and Southampton Road and again on Southhampton Road and SR 314. The pursuit continued southbound on SR 314, and the offender ran the light on SR 314 and Phoenix BLVD. The offender then made a left on Norman Blvd and began operating the dirt bike on the grass, but for reasons unknown, the offender laid the bike down and placed his hands in the air to surrender. The offender was taken into custody without incident. During the investigation, the offender's bike was not stolen but was not registered, and there was no valid insurance. The offender also did not have the proper license to operetate a motorcycle. The offender was also armed with a Glock 43 bearing serial number {Redacted}, which was not stolen. Clayton County Emergency Service arrived to ensure the offender was not injured. * Disclaimer: This video is for educational purposes only, showcasing the dangers and potential ramifications of fleeing from law enforcement.
