On May 1, 2025, in Lake Villa, Illinois, 53-year-old Kristi B. Tyler charged at her 72-year-old neighbor without provocation — knocking her to the ground, punching and kicking her, and leaving her with a forehead laceration and a left knee injury requiring surgery. She then ripped the American flag from her neighbor's home and ran down the street waving it. When officers caught up with Tyler and asked why she did it, her answers were unlike anything you'd expect: she claimed the rapture had already happened, that a limo carrying Donald Trump was on its way to pick her up, and that the attack was divine justice — because her neighbor had killed her dog in 2015. Tyler was charged with three counts of aggravated battery, including battery causing great bodily harm and battery of a victim over the age of 60. She was transported to Lake County Jail.
