Watch this police interrogation with intense raw interrogation from the interrogation room as police conduct a full interrogation of a suspect. This raw interrogation footage captures every moment of the suspect interview, complete with deception detection techniques, and criminal psychology in true JCS style interrogation. The Background Defendant: David Montes of Moxee, Washington (about 25 at the time of the crime; 29 at sentencing). No prior felony convictions. History included time at Eastern State Hospital, substance-abuse treatment, and heavy drinking the night of the crime. Defense later referenced prior U.S. Marine service. Victim: Santos Gloria Reyes, 63, of Yakima. She was working through an escort-service website when contacted. She had no prior relationship with Montes. Motive (per Montes’s statements to detectives): He said he was having homicidal thoughts, “wondered if he could go through with it,” and used an escort-service website specifically to find someone to kill. He told investigators he had no intention of having sex with Reyes. The Crime Date and location: Early hours of April 14, 2023, at Montes’s home in the 2400 block of Duffield Road, Moxee, Yakima County, Washington. Reyes arrived around 3 a.m. after an online arrangement. Sequence (from probable-cause affidavit and Montes’s account): Shortly after she arrived, as they went downstairs, he attacked and choked her. She tried to escape. He restrained her again until she died, first with his arms and then with his legs. He later demonstrated the holds to detectives. Autopsy confirmed death by strangulation. After the killing: He removed her clothing, discarded the clothes in a dumpster near the house, wrapped the body in plastic wrap, and placed it in the back seat of his truck. He then drove around running errands before telling his uncle what he had done. The Investigation Montes called 911 on April 14, 2023, at his uncle’s urging, and reported that he had killed someone using a choke/triangle hold. Deputies and Moxee police took him into custody that evening (around 10:35 p.m.) with the wrapped body still in the truck. He gave a detailed statement, including that he chose an escort site so he could lure a victim without easy tracing, and that the purpose was homicide rather than a paid encounter. He was described as cooperative with investigators. Physical evidence included the body, plastic wrap, discarded clothing, and autopsy findings. He was charged with first-degree murder and concealment/removal of a body. Bail was set at $1 million. Defense noted he was intoxicated at arrest and had mental-health and substance-use history. Conviction and Sentencing Montes pleaded guilty to first-degree murder. Sentencing range under Washington law was 240–320 months. Sentencing hearing: August 2026 (reported as the Tuesday before the Aug. 21, 2026 article), Yakima County Superior Court, Judge Elisabeth Tutsch. Prosecutor Bret Roberts recommended the legal minimum, citing no prior record, self-surrender at family urging, and cooperation. Defense attorney Ken Therrien noted heavy drinking and detachment from reality that night. Sentence: 240 months (20 years), the bottom of the range. Montes apologized in court, said the act was “not who I really am,” and accepted responsibility. The judge acknowledged both the harm to Reyes’s family and Montes’s lack of prior convictions and acceptance of responsibility. true crime, law and crime network, interrogation, interrogation analysis, red thread interrogations, interrogation jcs inspired, interrogation jcs style, interrogation psychology, interrogation psychology jcs inspired, new interrogations 2026,interrogation breakdown, police interrogation psychology, bodycam, interview, case analysis, bodycam footage, crime investigation, police interrogation, suspect interview, int, interrogations 2026,interrogation videos, jcs true crime
