Jeremy DeWitt, Metro State Special Services, and a fake cop setup collide with Tampa police after U.S. Customs flags a man dressed like law enforcement near federal property. This stop did not end in handcuffs that day, but it became one more piece of a much bigger record. Spotlight Moments: ⦁ Jeremy DeWitt argues statutes, demands answers, and challenges officers at the scene. ⦁ Tampa police question the lights, badge, uniform, gear, and weapon-like device on his hip. ⦁ U.S. Customs raises concerns after Jeremy is spotted near a federal facility. ⦁ Officers discover his record and the issue with his security officer status. ⦁ Metro State’s police-style operation comes under the microscope. The case later connects to prison time, false tax returns, and years of documented encounters. This matters because impersonation cases are not always simple. Sometimes the danger is not one single moment. It is the pattern. The uniform. The attitude. The equipment. The line between security work and pretending to be law enforcement can get very thin fast.
