On June 29, 2024, Fayetteville Police Officer Burns observed a red Dodge Ram pickup truck driving left of the center line. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. The police report indicates that he observed bloodshot and watery eyes and noticed slurred speech coming from the 21-year-old driver. She denied, however, consuming any alcohol and stated she was just coming home from work. She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests, she was placed under arrest for DUI and was transported to the Washington County Jail. She then submitted to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.24% BAC. She admitted to Officer Burns that this was her second DUI arrest. Her charges are discussed at the end of the video. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
