On April 12, 2025, the Melbourne Police Department received a call from a driver who was following a U.S. Postal Service truck that was driving on the wrong side of the road. Officers located the postal truck stopped at a red light and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle was being driven by a 33-year-old woman. The letter carrier denied consuming any alcohol. However, based on her driving and the fact that she was allegedly seen throwing a red Solo cup out of the postal truck, she was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. After performing poorly on the tests, she admitted that she went to a party during her 10-minute break and drank an alcoholic beverage that contained 2 shots of vodka. She was placed under arrest and was transported to the police station, where she provided 2 breath samples. The results were 0.100% and 0.099% BAC. Her charges are listed at the end of the video. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
