Troop L Troopers T. Butler and Senior Corporal D. Benton engage in a high speed pursuit of a Camaro. The vehicle escaped but was captured the following day by other agencies. Incident Report: On April 2, 2026, I, Trooper Timothy Butler, was parked on the median near mile marker 69 Southbound running radar. While parked running radar, I observed a vehicle traveling 110 MPH. As the vehicle passed me, I observed the vehicle to be a newer black Chevrolet Camaro. After I caught up to the vehicle, I noticed the car did not have a license plate and had loud exhaust. As the vehicle was changing lanes erratically, I initiated my emergency blue lights. Shortly after doing so, the vehicle accelerated and passed a semi on the right shoulder. I advised dispatch that I was in pursuit and initiated my siren. While trying to catch up to the vehicle, I observed the vehicle turn his lights off around the 65 mile marker and continued driving at a high rate of speed. As I approached exit 64, I lost sight of the vehicle and terminated the pursuit. On April 3, 2026, I received an email from our communication center, stating Conway PD and Faulkner County Sheriff's Office initiated a pursuit with a black 2018 ZL1 Chevrolet Camaro. According to the email, vehicle was stolen from the Crain Buick GMC dealership, located in Springdale, Arkansas. The suspect, who was later identified as Jamarain Sanders DOB 1/26/2008, fled from officers and reached speeds of approximately 170 mph. After the vehicle struck a tree, the suspect fled on foot, where he was later apprehended. Faulkner County collected 2 cell phones from the vehicle. A Autel MaxiIM IM508, which is a professional key programming tool, was located in the vehicle. After obtaining this information, I contacted Onstar and spoke to there legal department. I provided them with the VIN number for the vehicle and I was able to obtain the IMEI number (015094002715809) for the Camaro. I provided the IMEI number to Springdale detective, Kyle Nash, and they are currently in the process of trying to obtain the vehicle data on the vehicle. #police #dashcam #crash #cars
