Akron Police were ditched to a robbery. The victim was sitting in her parked car at the corner of Paul Williams St. and W. Exchange St. waiting to go to work when she was approached by an unknown black male. The victim that he asked her for spare change, and that when she turned and leaned into her center console to get change, he pulled out a folding pocket knife and demanded: "Everything she got". She states that she only had around 4 to 5 dollars on her plus a little bit of change which she gave him. He then took the money and ran west on W. Exchange St. Akron Children's Hospital Police Department was able to pull video and observed a male matching the description running down Locust St. from W. Exchange St. They thought that he possibly then went into a building on W. Cedar St. The officers made contact with the residential aid at W. Cedar St., who confirmed that the male lived there and was wearing clothing that matched the description of our suspect. After the police reviewed the surveillance video, They were able to ID a Mr.Moore. Officers went back to meet the victim, to see if we could get a positive ID. The Akron Police pulled a picture from traffic cameras that showed a male matching the clothing and physical description of our suspect. The victim was able to positively ID that that was the suspect who robbed her with a knife. The officers then went back to the apartment to confirm the photo that the victim positively ID'd as Mr.Moore. They had stated yes and that he was wearing the exact clothing in the photos today. When officers went to sign warrants, The Akron Police received a call from Akron Children's Hospital that Rakeem was back in his apartment. Akron Police went to the apartment and arrested Rakeem without incident. He was still wearing the same clothing from the incident and what was captured in the videos.
