On Thursday, February 29, 2024, Broward County Sheriff's Office Burglary Apprehension Team Detectives were conducting surveillance on a known subject with an ankle monitor. The subject was known to associate with two individuals, identified as 19-year-old Keon Collins and 21-year-old Ian Scott, both of whom had active felony warrants out of Broward County for Possession of Stolen Firearm. After the subjects exited a flea market, detectives moved in and took them into custody without incident. During the apprehension, a detective removed a black and tan Glock 22 .40 caliber firearm from Collins's front waistband. The weapon was loaded with one round in the chamber and fourteen in the magazine, and investigators noted it had two different serial numbers. Both subjects were charged accordingly and transported to the BSO Main Jail.
