On October 14, 2023, Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Speicher observed a vehicle travel over the marked lane lines in the center of the road. Trooper Speicher quickly turned around and was able to catch up to the vehicle. The 22-year-old woman admitted that she had taken several prescription medications. She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests and Trooper Speicher concluded that it was not safe for her to be driving. Since she was only a few blocks from home, her husband was called and he was allowed to come and take the vehicle home. The woman was taken to the Highway Patrol post, where she provided a urine specimen. She was charged with Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI) and a Marked Lanes violation.
