On the 3rd of March, 2024, a law enforcement officer was on patrol when they observed a scooter with a sole occupant ahead of them. The scooter did not slow down initially at a red light, causing concern. After some braking, the scooter almost tipped over but the occupant managed to stabilize it. When the light turned green, the scooter did not move immediately, prompting the officer to initiate a traffic stop. The officer signaled for the scooter to pull over, and after some delay, the occupant complied. Upon approaching the individual, the officer noticed signs of possible intoxication, including a strong odor of alcohol, droopy and watery eyes, and slurred speech. Despite instructions to hang up a phone, the individual refused, leading to a confrontation where the officer attempted to detain them. Backup officers arrived to assist in detaining the individual, who continued to resist and behave erratically. The individual was eventually taken into custody and transported to a detention center. Despite being offered field sobriety exercises, the individual refused to cooperate. Subsequent citations were issued for improper standing/stopping, driving under the influence, and refusal to submit to a DUI test. Based on the evidence gathered, the officer believed there was probable cause to charge the individual with resisting an officer without violence in two separate instances during the encounter. #bodycam #police #cops #bwc #policebodycamera #copcam #copcar #arrest #arrested The individuals featured in these videos are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
