On March 5, 2024, Courtney Galloway called police in Alexander, Arkansas and reported a break-in at the house she had been staying in. She told officers someone had taken the microwave, stolen her tools, screwed the door shut from the outside, and written something on the back of the door in her dead dog's blood. She named a man called Dino as the person responsible. When officers asked whose house it was, her answer changed everything about the call. Dino showed up on scene while officers were still taking Galloway's statement. He told them he had been living there for six to eight months, that a woman named Jamie had arranged his stay, and that Galloway had moved in while he was away at a family funeral for fifteen days. He said she had locked him out for three days before he came back. Officers started looking into the property. Both legal owners were deceased. The property was delinquent on taxes. Jamie had no legal authority to sublet it to anyone. The permission chain that both people were pointing to went nowhere. Officers told both of them they had no right to be there. Dino was charged with residential burglary, criminal trespass, and criminal mischief. Galloway was also placed under arrest. She was the one who made the 911 call.
