Know your rights before police decide not to hear you. 📄 Story tips, resources & support 👉 https://www.thinblueliesmedia.com Submit police accountability tips, bodycam footage, public records, court documents, and local story leads. Free Police Accountability Toolkit: https://www.thinblueliesmedia.com/resources Three Prosper Police detectives reported suspected misconduct involving two department employees. According to CBS Texas, the detectives reviewed station surveillance footage and used Flock data connected to a police-owned vehicle before taking their findings through the chain of command. Instead of being treated as whistleblowers, detectives Joseph Buttery, Cody Wilson and Michael Zachary were investigated and demoted. Their supervisor, Sgt. Seanna Arredondo, was also disciplined. All six employees involved received demotion and probation—even though their alleged conduct was substantially different. Former Chief Doug Kowalski called the detectives whistleblowers and warned that their punishment sent a dangerous message: “Keep quiet.” After CBS Texas exposed the disciplinary process, Prosper reversed the punishments for Wilson and Zachary, restored their ranks, and awarded back pay and benefits. CBS also reported that Arredondo’s discipline was reversed. Buttery left the department and rejected a similar offer because he wants those responsible for handling the investigation held accountable. Was this genuine accountability—or damage control after the records became public?
