On the 11th of April 2020, a Toyota Landcruiser and trailer were stolen at 5:30 PM at Kulin. The alleged driver, a 14-year-old male, drove the car Colliding with a parked car on Elkhorn Street and proceeded through the city of Maroochydore. Police deployed a tyre deflation device, but the male kept driving with the trailer's ramps dragging along the road. It all came to an end on Horton Parade when the vehicle jack-knifed and crashed around 6:30 PM. It's alleged the boy struck an officer in the face, before being taken into custody and charged with nine offences, including evasion, drug possession and having a knife in a public place.
