On February 7, 2025, a hotel manager called 911 to report that an intoxicated individual would not confirm that he is a guest of the establishment and began acting aggressively. Officers with the Key West Police Department responded to the call and made contact with the suspect, a 36 year old U.S. Naval Officer named Thomas. In the end, Thomas was charged with disorderly conduct, trespassing, and two counts of resisting or obstructing an officer without violence. His case remains ongoing.
