The Secaucus Police Department on July 23, 2025 were dispatched to the parking lot of 700 Plaza Drive following reports of individuals illegally siphoning used cooking oil from a commercial property. Upon arrival, law enforcement located a 51-year-old male and a 46-year-old male operating a grey 2000 Ford van. The ensuing investigation into the theft of movable property revealed further infractions. Both suspects were found in possession of controlled dangerous substances, identified in the police report as suspected Suboxone and Oxycodone. Furthermore, a background check indicated that the subjects had multiple active warrants across various jurisdictions. The 51-year-old possessed an outstanding warrant from Union for $1,000. The 46-year-old had active warrants out of Nutley for $2,500, Newark for $2,000, and West Orange for $250. Both individuals were subsequently issued complaint warrants and remanded to the Hudson County Jail. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide.
