🚨 High‑Speed Fleeing Incident Ends in Crash — Independence, Missouri (Aug. 27, 2025) Independence Police attempted a traffic stop on a black Chrysler 300 near US‑40 Hwy and Peek Dr after observing the vehicle speeding, drifting over lane lines, and displaying only a rear license plate. When the officer approached, the driver — Curtis Johnson III — drove away at a high rate of speed, initiating a pursuit. During the incident, Johnson traveled through multiple residential and commercial areas at speed in excess of 100 mph, passing vehicles in oncoming lanes, failing to stop at traffic signals, and driving through areas with active cross‑traffic. The pursuit continued across several major roadways, including Pittman Rd, Northern Ave, Sterling Ave, Blue Ridge Blvd, and 63rd St. While northbound on Blue Ridge Cut‑Off, Johnson’s vehicle struck a 2022 Ram 1500, causing damage estimated at more than $1,000 and resulting in a knee injury to the other driver. Johnson continued fleeing until he left the roadway on 55th St and collided with a cement bridge structure, disabling the Chrysler. Officers took him into custody without further incident. A search of the vehicle recovered: - An AR‑style .556 pistol with no serial number, loaded with 31 rounds - Approximately 25 grams of marijuana - Two boxes of .556 ammunition Johnson later waived his Miranda rights and stated he fled because he did not have a valid driver’s license and was concerned about being arrested. Charges Filed: - Aggravated Fleeing a Stop or Detention — Causing Physical Injury (Class B Felony) - Driving without a valid license Key Details: 📍 Independence - Kansas City - Raytown, Missouri 📅 August 27, 2025 💨 Speeds over 100 mph 💥 Collision with another vehicle resulting in injury 🔫 Firearm and ammunition recovered 🚘 Vehicle disabled after striking bridge structure Sentencing information can be found at the end of the video. 0:00 Intro 1:35 Flees traffic stop 8:10 Pursuit ends 10:15 Suspect in custody 11:53 Gun found in vehicle 13:01 High quality H2O 14:52 Unicorns are my favorite 18:36 Perfect timing 22:20 What's on the playlist?
