Earl Myers III, who identified himself as Waya El Calian, insisted that he was “traveling” rather than driving and challenged deputies' authority during a traffic stop in Volusia County, Florida. The encounter ended with Myers being taken into custody—but that wasn't the end of the story. Just nine days later, deputies encountered Myers again, this time driving a vehicle displaying a fictitious “DOT Exempt” plate marked “PR1V4T3.” Once again, Myers maintained that he was traveling and refused to provide the documentation requested by deputies. The second encounter ended with officers breaking the driver's-side window and arresting him again. Myers' legal problems continued afterward. Court records show that in March 2026, he pleaded no contest and was adjudicated guilty in a later felony case involving possession of cocaine, possession of fentanyl, manufacture of cannabis, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to 30 months in Florida state prison, with credit for 213 days already served. This video combines both encounters and follows what happened afterward. All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until adjudicated guilty. Body-camera footage is presented for news, documentary, educational, and commentary purposes.
