The only thing wrong with the car was a plate that expired in 2022. About five minutes later, the passenger had a broken nose. On June 28, 2024, an Akron, Ohio officer ordered passenger Terrell Battles out of his brother's car during a stop for an expired plate. This episode plays both officers' body cameras — the stop, the punches, the crowd and the search — with the driving cut, and replays the key seconds from the second camera. Brad Graves breaks down what the law allows (Pennsylvania v. Mimms, Maryland v. Wilson), Ohio's ID law, and how courts judge force (Graham v. Connor). Then comes what his department decided, and how it ended.
