At the scene, I interviewed (Victim), who reported that her ex-boyfriend (Suspect) assaulted her and stole her phone. Despite observing no visible injuries on (Victim), she disclosed being involved in a dispute with (Suspect) after discovering his infidelity. Subsequently, officers located (Suspect) at his residence, a short distance from Nicholas, where he refused to exit but surrendered the phone through a window. Following this, I escorted (Victim) to press charges against him for theft, as he admitted to taking the phone but refused to leave his residence. Upon her request, I ensured (Victim) safely reached her home, as she expressed feeling unsafe. However, moments after she entered her apartment, I observed (Suspect) exiting his own unit and heading towards hers. He proceeded to aggressively bang on her door and shout. Reacting swiftly, I approached (Suspect) and found him still yelling at (Victim), who had begun recording the incident. Drawing my taser, I issued loud verbal commands for him to cease his actions and place his hands on his head. Despite repeated warnings, he fled, ignoring all instructions. Though I discharged my taser, it failed to make contact. He was subsequently apprehended a short distance away by Officer Fields 1506 at Newton Circle/Teddy Avenue. (Suspect) received medical attention from AFD for minor injuries on-site and was then transported to Akron General Hospital.
