Springfield, Missouri. June 6, 1992. Suzie Streeter (19) and Stacy McCall (18) graduated from Kickapoo High School. After parties, they drove to Suzie's home — 1717 East Delmar Street, a small house Sherrill Levitt (47) had only moved into two months earlier. The last confirmed contact with Sherrill was 11:15pm, chatting about painting furniture. By 9am the next morning, friends arrived to pick the girls up for the water park. No answer at the door. Inside: the front porch light was broken. Cinnamon — Sherrill's Yorkshire terrier — came barreling out of the hallway alone. Three purses stacked neatly beside each other in the bedroom. Cigarettes untouched on the counter. Both cars in the driveway. Beds slept in. Used makeup wipes in the bathroom trash — proof they had arrived, cleaned up, and gone to sleep. While friends searched — the phone rang twice. Obscene calls from a male voice who immediately hung up. A disturbing message on the answering machine. No signs of struggle. No forced entry. No blood. Three women simply gone. 5,000+ tips. FBI. Ground-penetrating radar at Cox Hospital parking garage found three anomalies. Dismissed as insufficient. Robert Craig Cox was living on East Delmar Street — the same road — in June 1992. A former Army Ranger who had been on Florida's death row for the 1978 murder of a Disney World clerk. Acquitted on appeal. Back in Springfield by 1990. His alibi: home sleeping. His girlfriend initially confirmed they went to church together that morning. She later recanted — Cox had asked her to lie. In 1997, Cox told journalists from a Texas prison: "I know they are dead. There's no doubt about that." He said he would share what he knew after his mother died. His mother died. Cox said nothing. Robert Craig Cox died in 2024. 33 years. No bodies. No arrests. Case still open.
