buymeacoffee.com/BlueLineLens On December 14, 2024, at approximately 9:55 p.m., Police Officers Nasir Willey and Brian Kim were on patrol in the area of Third Street and Park Avenue, when they observed an electric moped committing multiple traffic and motor vehicle related violations. They attempted to pull the bike over using emergency lights, but the driver ignored the officers, despite acknowledging he saw them. The driver eventually stopped on the 100 block of Third Street, when he got stuck in traffic. When the officers approached the driver, later identified as 25-year-old Bryan Rodriguez of Jersey City, he became irritated. It was learned the vehicle was not registered. Sgt. Michael Straten and Police Officers Christopher Soto, Trevor Thomas, Andrias Bonilla, and Michael Chen arrived to assist. Rodriquez continued to act disorderly and yelled profanities at officers as they tried to explain why his bike needed to be registered. He refused to give officers his identity and information. He was placed under arrest and resisted by tensing his arms making it difficult for officers to handcuff him. Rodriquez was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters where he was charged with eluding, obstruction of the administration of the law, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct, and issued summonses for uninsured vehicle, unlicensed driver, failure to stop at a stop sign, and unregistered vehicle. He was released from custody with a summons. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. #ebike #resisting #news
