On Friday, June 13th, 2025, police officers in Albuquerque, New Mexico, responded to assist with a disturbance. What began as an effort to de-escalate the situation quickly escalated into a series of arrests after a group of individuals repeatedly argued, provoked, and resisted officers. In the end, officers physically restrained and placed the individuals under arrest on the ground after they repeatedly refused multiple lawful commands to back away and physically resisted officers' attempts to break up the disturbance. Officers then secured the suspects in the back of patrol vehicles. Based on the conduct documented in this body camera footage, the following charges could potentially apply: *Disorderly Conduct: For engaging in violent, tumultuous, or threatening behavior and causing a public disturbance. *Resisting, Evading, or Obstructing an Officer: For refusing lawful orders, interfering with police duties, and physically resisting detention. *Battery upon a Peace Officer: For intentionally touching or applying force to an officer during the altercation. The final charges are determined by prosecutors based on the available evidence and applicable law. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
