When police encounter a celebrity, the situation instantly becomes more intense. In this shocking bodycam video, viewers witness the complete DUI arrest of Olympic legend Mary Lou Retton in Marion County, West Virginia. On May 17, officers stop a Porsche that’s swerving dangerously on the road. Behind the wheel is none other than Mary Lou Retton. As police conduct field sobriety tests, Retton struggles to follow instructions, disputes the process, and pauses the tests to use her oxygen tank—raising serious concerns for officers on scene. The situation escalates quickly. Despite her fame and public status, officers determine there are clear signs of impairment. Retton is placed under arrest, proving once again that celebrity status does not exempt anyone from the law. At the station, attention shifts from enforcement to health. Officers express concern about her oxygen levels and call for medical assistance, but Retton refuses treatment. She is later given legal options, including a breathalyzer or blood testboth of which she declines. Ultimately, the legal process continues.
