On July 27, 2024, Arkansas State Police Trooper Duncan attempted to stop a man who was allegedly traveling 114 miles per hour. After the vehicle stopped on the shoulder of Interstate 49, Trooper Duncan asked the man to exit his vehicle. The man ignored her commands and resisted her efforts to remove him from the vehicle. A wresting match ensued that eventually led to Trooper Duncan discharging her service weapon. The man was struck in the right temple area. All of this was witnessed by a female motorist who stopped to assist the Trooper. The man was arrested and transported to a local hospital. Once discharged from the hospital, he was transported to the Benton County Detention Center. His case remains open. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
