On March 26, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Officer Roskos was patrolling when a fast moving vehicle cut across Officer Roskos' vehicle, causing him to quickly brake in order to avoid a collision. Officer Roskos initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 32-year-old woman. The police report indicates that Officer Roskos could smell alcohol emitting from her breath. He asked her to step out of the vehicle, but she repeatedly questioned whether she was required to do so. When she finally stepped out of her vehicle, she refused to participate in standardized field sobriety tests. As a result, she was placed under arrest for Driving While Under the Influence of Liquor (DWI). At the police station, she refused to submit to a breath test, which raised the charge to Aggravated DWI. She was also charged with Careless Driving and Having an Open Container of Alcohol in the car. She was transported to the Sandoval County Detention Center for booking. Her case remains open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
