A woman was reportedly drunk and sitting in a Kia. He arrived at 2:41 AM and found Shannon Hayes, 21, in the driver's seat with a passenger beside her. Hayes said they had played pool at the bar. She first denied drinking. Another officer arrived to assist, and McCarthy asked her to get out of the car for sobriety tests. He began with the HGN test. Hayes's eyes did not track smoothly and jerked at the far edges and before the 45-degree point. Next came the Walk and Turn test, which was done inside because snow covered the ground outside. Hayes did not walk heel to toe and turned the wrong way. During the One Leg Stand, she struggled to raise her foot and put it down too soon. Hayes had control of the car, and McCarthy smelled alcohol on her breath. She admitted drinking and failed the sobriety tests. He arrested her for Physical Control of a Motor Vehicle. Afterward, she told officers she had a prior OVI arrest and answered some questions. She said she had consumed four shots of "green tea" liquor. McCarthy then took her to the station. There, an officer read her the ALS form, and Hayes agreed to a breath test. The breathalyzer measured her BAC at 0.205%, more than twice the legal limit. After processing, she received a ticket for physical control. A friend picked her up, and she is awaiting her court date. If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
