On May 14th, 2023, Police in Cook County, Illinois, responded to a grocery store after receiving multiple calls about a shoplifting incident in progress. First responders located a suspect, who attempted to run away to avoid being arrested. The suspect continued resisting arrest until he was carried into a police squad car. While being transported to jail, he attempted to escape. He was charged with multiple counts of battery, retail theft, and resisting arrest. This is body cam footage of the events that took place.
