On June 5, 2021, a high-speed chase unfolded across I-16 in Georgia when a deputy clocked a black Mazda speeding at over 90 mph with no tag. What followed was a reckless pursuit reaching 118 mph, involving shoulder passing, a sideswiped vehicle, and a PIT maneuver that brought the suspects to a halt. When the car was disabled, both suspects fled — one caught by a K-9 and the other arrested shortly after. Inside the stolen vehicle, deputies found multiple drugs and stolen IDs.
