A driver in the Florida Keys nearly caused a multi-vehicle crash before deputies were finally able to bring his SUV to a stop, and what happened next turned into a full hour long manhunt through the mangroves. Joshua Guajardo, 40, was caught driving 80 mph in a 55 mph zone on US-1, weaving through traffic and nearly striking other vehicles. Monroe County deputies deployed spike strips that destroyed his tires and stopped his Chevy Tahoe right before the bridge at mile marker 70. Instead of giving up, Guajardo bolted on foot into the mangroves, forcing deputies to call in air and boat support for the search. An hour later, he tried to walk out pretending to be a jogger, but deputies recognized him instantly and made the arrest. Guajardo was charged with DUI, fleeing and eluding, and driving with a suspended license, and was booked into the Monroe County Jail.
