On 7-27-23, at approximately 8:48 A.M., I heard Sergeant Wesley Smith with the Crittenden County Sheriff's Office call out over the radio that the had located a stolen vehicle in Gilmore by the post office that had just been stolen in Turrell. Sergeant Smith stated that he had two people at gunpoint. I knew that I was the closest unit to him and responded to the area. As I entered Gilmore, I heard Sergeant Smith state that the suspects were fleeing the area in a black Cadillac CTS (AR AAR51Y). I saw the suspect vehicle as it turned off of Front Street onto Menesha Street. I assumed a primary position in the vehicle pursuit and notified Troop D Communications that I was actively pursuing a stolen vehicle occupied by two white males. The vehicle entered I-555 southbound and began traveling at speeds in excess of 100 M.P.H. and passed a civilian vehicle on the shoulder, almost causing a crash. Once I had a gap in traffic, I moved in for a TVI by contacting the right rear of the suspect vehicle with the front left of my patrol vehicle. This caused the vehicle to rotate in a clockwise motion and leave the right side of the roadway. The suspect vehicle regained control and continued fleeing southbound on I-555 and attempted to enter I-55 southbound. While we were on the entrance ramp, I noticed the suspect vehicle had a flat tire on the front right side. I also noticed a ditch on the left side of the roadway, so I moved in for another TVI in an attempted to put the fleeing vehicle in the ditch so that no other motorists would be at a risk of harm. I performed a second TVI by contacting the left rear of the suspect vehicle with the front right of my patrol vehicle. This made the suspect vehicle rotate in a counter clockwise motion and leave the left side of the roadway. Once the suspect vehicle entered the ditch, it was disabled. A white male with gray hair and tattoos jumped out of the driver seat and a white male with reddish brown hair jumped from the passenger seat and fled into an open grassy area east of our location that contained a lot of overgrown weeds. Once in the middle of the grassy area, the suspects laid down. We requested a drone and some tracking dogs since the information that the CCSO dispatch gave out was that the suspects were armed. We were unable to locate either suspect with the use of a drone or dogs. Corporal Andy Smith with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission was on scene and I requested that he drive his truck into the open area and see if we could locate them that way. Corporal Smith drove while Corporal Martin (ASP), Trooper Milow (ASP), and I were in the back of his truck providing long gun coverage. As we drove through the area, Trooper Milow located both suspects laying in the grassy area. We shouted commands to the suspects and were able to take them into custody. Once in custody, they were both turned over to the CCSO. The driver was identified as Terry Gooch (1/12/1982 W/M). The passenger was identified as Bjorn Nelson (8/29/2007 W/M). Refer to CCSO report 23-01418. The charges are as follows. Gooch- Speeding, Reckless Driving 1st, Fleeing (Fel), Fleeing (Misd), Driving on Revoked License, Theft by Receiving (Fel). Bjorn- Theft by Receiving (Fel), Fleeing (Misd) TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@lrhn_cash?_t=8Y7xpZ1AeWg&_r=1 twitter: https://twitter.com/LRHN_Cash Instagram: https://instagram.com/lrhncash?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100093421843825&mibextid=LQQJ4d For Channel Donation to help us & help the channel grow in the near future here’s the link https://venmo.com/u/LRHN-LRHN
