On June 18, 2025, Palm Beach County Sheriff's Deputy Medina stopped a vehicle for speeding. The vehicle was being driven by a 36-year-old woman who was returning from the Florida Panthers Hockey game. The police report indicates that Deputy Medina could smell alcohol coming from the breath of the woman. As a result, he called for a DUI Investigator to respond to his location. Investigator Barreras arrived and asked the woman to submit to standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests, she was placed under arrest for DUI and reckless driving. At the DUI testing center, she refused to submit to a breath test. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
