On February 19, 2025, Las Cruces Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident. Officers were able to acquire surveillance footage of the head-on accident, which is shown in this video. Officers interviewed the at-fault driver, a 35-year-old woman, who had her children in the car with her. She claimed to be coming from soccer practice. Unaware that she was involved in an accident, she asked officers why she was pulled over. She initially denied consuming alcohol, but eventually admitted to consuming 3 beers. She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests and was ultimately placed under arrest. She refused to provide breath samples. Her long list of charges is listed at the end of the video. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
